Job description
Position Title: Valet / H-2B & J-1 Driver
Reports to (Position Title): Dining Room Manager/F&B Director
Position Overview: The Valet / H-2B & J-1 Driver is responsible for providing courteous, professional valet services to members and guests while also providing safe and reliable transportation for H-2B and J-1 employees. This position will coordinate and complete daily transportation assignments, including employee pickups, drop-offs, airport transportation, and transportation between employee housing and the Club or other designated locations. When transportation duties are not required, this position will assist the Food & Beverage Department as a Food Runner and with other operational duties as assigned. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, service-oriented, flexible, and able to manage changing daily transportation and operational needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Transportation – H-2B / J-1 Employees
- Safely transport H2B and J1 employees to and from designated locations, including employee housing, the Club, airports, and other approved destinations.
- Pick up and deliver H2B and J1 employees according to daily transportation schedules and assignments.
- Provide transportation to and from airports for arriving and departing employees.
- Review and follow daily transportation assignments and schedules provided by management.
- Communicate with management regarding changes to schedules, delays, transportation needs, or other issues.
- Ensure employees arrive at designated locations safely and on time.
- Assist employees with luggage when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate awareness of daily pickup and dropoff locations and schedules.
- Operate Club vehicles in a safe, courteous, and professional manner.
- Conduct basic inspections of assigned vehicles and report maintenance, safety, or cleanliness concerns to management.
- Keep assigned vehicles clean, organized, fueled, and ready for use.
- Follow all applicable traffic laws, Club policies, and vehicle safety procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when transporting employees, members, and guests.
Valet Services
- Meet and greet members and guests in a courteous and professional manner, using surnames when possible.
- Open vehicle doors for members and guests.
- Provide members and guests with valet tickets.
- Park vehicles in designated spaces and record the parking space number on the appropriate ticket.
- Maintain valet tickets in numerical order at the valet stand.
- Retrieve vehicles promptly when members or guests present their valet tickets.
- Open clubhouse doors for members and guests as needed.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and organized valet stand.
- Empty valet stand trash receptacles nightly.
- Provide a welcoming and professional first impression to members and guests.
Food & Beverage / Food Runner
- When not assigned to driving or valet duties, assist the Food & Beverage Department as a Food Runner.
- Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen or service areas to the appropriate tables promptly and accurately.
- Assist servers and other Food & Beverage team members as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of food running and service areas.
- Assist with setup, clearing, and other dining room duties as needed.
- Provide courteous and professional service to members and guests.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes effective working relationships with members, guests, clients, coworkers, and management.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist other departments and perform additional duties as operational needs require.
- Follow all Club policies, procedures, safety requirements, and applicable laws.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Company at its discretion from time to time.
Credentials and Experience:
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior Club or previous valet experience a plus
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service skills and a pleasant, professional demeanor.
- Ability to safely operate Club vehicles and navigate to various destinations.
- Ability to follow schedules, daily assignments, and transportation instructions accurately.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and adjust to changing daily priorities.
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- Energetic and willing to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interact professionally with members, guests, H2B/J1 employees, coworkers, and management.
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism when schedules or assignments change.
