Job description
30-minute appointments. Two techs per doctor. No on-call. Ever.
We built Wellpaw because we were tired of veterinary medicine burning out the people who practice it. At our Cherry Creek clinic in Denver, you'll have the time, the team, and the tools to practice the medicine you were trained for, and go home at the end of your shift. After-hours emergencies go to our 24/7 Wellpaw hospital across town, not to your phone.
Year-one earning potential: $175,000 – $235,000+
- Base salary $125,000 – $160,000, depending on experience
- $35,000 sign-on bonus
- Production bonus on top of base (our associates average $15K–$40K a year)
- Plus up to $30,000 in student loan repayment over your first 3 years
Why DVMs choose Wellpaw
- Time to practice good medicine. Standard appointments are 30 minutes, not 15.
- A full support team. Two credentialed or experienced techs for every doctor, plus dedicated client care staff, so you're not answering phones between patients.
- Clients who come prepared. Our app handles booking, reminders, and upfront pricing, so fewer surprises and fewer difficult money conversations in the exam room.
- Mentorship that's real. A dedicated mentor for your first 6 months, plus access to 245 fellow Wellpaw vets for case consults across 64 clinics.
- Modern equipment: in-house lab, digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, and laser therapy.
- Your recommendations stay yours. No product sales quotas.
What you'll do
- See dogs and cats for wellness exams, sick visits, and preventive care
- Perform soft tissue surgery (spays, neuters, mass removals) and dentistry
- Build long-term relationships with families in one of Denver's most pet-friendly neighborhoods
- Help shape care protocols used across our network (if you want to)
Schedule
Four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days, your choice. Rotating Saturdays (about one per month). No overnight shifts and no on-call.
What you bring
- DVM or VMD from an AVMA-accredited school, or ECFVG/PAVE certification
- Colorado veterinary license, or eligibility to obtain one (we'll cover the cost)
- DEA registration, or the ability to obtain it
- Experienced associates and ambitious recent grads are both welcome
Moving to Denver? We offer up to $12,000 in relocation assistance and sponsor TN and H-1B visas for qualified candidates.
Benefits
- Medical, dental & vision insurance: 90% of employee medical premiums and 100% of dental and vision paid
- HSA option
- Professional liability insurance fully covered
- 401(k) with 4% company match
- 15 days PTO + 8 paid holidays
- $3,000 annual CE allowance + 5 paid CE days
- 8 weeks fully paid parental leave
- Free care for up to 3 of your own pets, plus 50% off surgery and medications
- Employee Assistance Program with free confidential counseling
- Life and disability insurance

Visa sponsorship record
No public sponsorship records foundWe didn't find H-1B, H-1B1, E-3 or green card (PERM) filings under the name Wellpaw Health, Inc. in the Department of Labor and USCIS data. That doesn't mean the job can't be sponsored — the company may file under a different legal name, be new to sponsorship, or sponsor a visa that isn't in these datasets (for example H-2B or J-1).
Tip: ask the recruiter early, in writing, which visa they sponsor and whether they cover the legal and filing fees.

- Mentioned in the listing
H-1B
- H-1B cap-exempt employer
Regular cap-subject employer — a new H-1B needs to win the lottery in March (unless you already hold cap-counted H-1B status).
- TN (citizens of Canada and Mexico)
This kind of role may fit the USMCA profession “Veterinarian” — it depends on the actual duties. No lottery, no cap; you need the matching degree or license.
- E-3 (Australia) and H-1B1 (Chile, Singapore)
Same degree requirement as H-1B, but no lottery and a separate quota that is rarely filled.
- O-1 (extraordinary ability)
For candidates with awards, publications, press, a high salary or critical roles at distinguished organizations. No cap, no lottery; the employer files a petition.
Salary vs prevailing wage
Level I (entry)Veterinarians · Denver-Aurora-Centennial, CO. Annual prevailing wages set by the Department of Labor (OFLC).
| Level | Prevailing wage | H-1B lottery odds* |
|---|---|---|
| Level I | $101,670 | ~15% |
| Level II | $125,757 | ~31% |
| Level III | $149,822 | ~46% |
| Level IV | $173,909 | ~61% |
This job pays $125,000–$160,000 a year — that's Level I (entry). In the wage-weighted H-1B lottery a Level I registration gets 1 entry; estimated selection chance about 15% — below average.
* Odds are DHS projections for the FY2027 wage-weighted lottery (actual results vary by year and employer). Since the FY2027 cap season the H-1B lottery is weighted by wage level: Level I = 1 entry, II = 2, III = 3, IV = 4. The level is set by the offered wage against the prevailing wage for the occupation and worksite. Separately, a $100,000 fee for new H-1B petitions for workers outside the US was announced in 2025; as of September 2026 a federal court ruling keeps it unenforceable while appeals continue — check the current status.
