Job description

About the company

Our client is a venture-backed, revenue-generating enterprise AI company building and deploying autonomous agents inside some of the world's largest organizations. Its team includes alumni of Meta, AWS, Citadel Securities, McKinsey, BCG, and Stanford. The company has raised $3.7 million, is already in production with Fortune 500 customers, and is building the operating platform that makes enterprise agents dependable in real-world environments.

About the role

We are hiring a Software Engineer to build the core platform used to create, monitor, optimize, and deploy autonomous agents. This is a high-ownership role spanning backend engineering, product thinking, enterprise deployment, and hands-on client implementations. You will work onsite in San Francisco's Financial District five to six days per week.

What you will do

  • Build and own core components of the platform that runs client AI agents
  • Develop production agent implementations and manage deployment and operation
  • Design product-level features while implementing robust backend systems
  • Package, version, and deploy software into single-tenant and customer-controlled cloud environments
  • Make durable architecture decisions across workflow orchestration, infrastructure, and agent reliability
  • Identify important problems independently and drive them through production

Requirements

What we are looking for

  • Three to five years of backend software engineering experience
  • Production experience building AI agents or LLM-based systems used by real customers
  • At least two years in an early-stage startup or another high-ambiguity, high-ownership environment
  • Strong TypeScript skills and practical familiarity with agent frameworks
  • Experience with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, containers, and production scaling
  • Experience deploying into BYOC, single-tenant, or on-premise environments
  • Knowledge of durable execution or workflow orchestration
  • A computer science or other technical degree
  • High energy, ambition, autonomy, and concise communication

Nice to have

  • Experience with Temporal, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, Mastra, or the Vercel AI SDK
  • Familiarity with both AWS and Google Cloud Platform
  • Direct experience improving agent reliability in production
  • Experience shipping enterprise software into Fortune 500 environments

Benefits

  • $100,000 to $210,000, plus competitive equity in a company valued above $2B
  • 100% covered medical, dental, and vision
  • Unlimited PTO
  • All meals provided in the office
  • Relocation package
  • Commuter benefit
  • Base salary of $180,000 to $250,000
  • Equity of approximately 0.1% to 0.5%
  • Flexible paid time off
  • Free lunch and dinner in the office
  • Rides home for late nights and monthly team events
  • Visa transfers, including OPT and H-1B, may be considered for qualified candidates

Visa sponsorship record

No public sponsorship records found

We didn't find H-1B, H-1B1, E-3 or green card (PERM) filings under the name Raydar in the Department of Labor and USCIS data. That doesn't mean the job can't be sponsored — the company may file under a different legal name, be new to sponsorship, or sponsor a visa that isn't in these datasets (for example H-2B or J-1).

Tip: ask the recruiter early, in writing, which visa they sponsor and whether they cover the legal and filing fees.

Occupation: Software Developers (SOC 15-1252).

  • Mentioned in the listing

    H-1B, OPT

  • H-1B cap-exempt employer

Regular cap-subject employer — a new H-1B needs to win the lottery in March (unless you already hold cap-counted H-1B status).

  • TN (citizens of Canada and Mexico)

This kind of role may fit the USMCA profession “Computer Systems Analyst (or Engineer, for engineering-degree holders)” — it depends on the actual duties. No lottery, no cap; you need the matching degree or license.

  • E-3 (Australia) and H-1B1 (Chile, Singapore)

Same degree requirement as H-1B, but no lottery and a separate quota that is rarely filled.

  • O-1 (extraordinary ability)

For candidates with awards, publications, press, a high salary or critical roles at distinguished organizations. No cap, no lottery; the employer files a petition.

  • STEM OPT extension (F-1 students)

Requires an E-Verify employer. We didn't find this company in the E-Verify list — ask HR.

Salary vs prevailing wage

Level II (qualified)

Software Developers · San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont, CA. Annual prevailing wages set by the Department of Labor (OFLC).

L1L2L3L4
LevelPrevailing wageH-1B lottery odds*
Level I$137,093~15%
Level II$165,131~31%
Level III$193,149~46%
Level IV$221,187~61%

This job pays $180,000–$250,000 a year — that's Level II (qualified). In the wage-weighted H-1B lottery a Level II registration gets 2 entries; estimated selection chance about 31%.

* Odds are DHS projections for the FY2027 wage-weighted lottery (actual results vary by year and employer). Since the FY2027 cap season the H-1B lottery is weighted by wage level: Level I = 1 entry, II = 2, III = 3, IV = 4. The level is set by the offered wage against the prevailing wage for the occupation and worksite. Separately, a $100,000 fee for new H-1B petitions for workers outside the US was announced in 2025; as of September 2026 a federal court ruling keeps it unenforceable while appeals continue — check the current status.
