Job description

Who we are

At Domino, we build solutions that help the largest, highly regulated organizations adopt AI to accelerate mission-critical use cases. Our platform integrates a streamlined model and app development environment, advanced model, agent, and app hosting capabilities, and novel governance capabilities providing regulator-ready AI at scale. Our customers — like Johnson & Johnson, GSK, Bristol Myers, UBS, FINRA and the US Navy — are using our software to solve some of the most important challenges in the world, such as developing new medicines, securing our financial markets, or protecting our country. Backed by Sequoia Capital, Coatue Management, NVIDIA, Snowflake and other leading investors, we have been in business for over a decade but are still a small team operating with the spirit of a startup. In the world of AI today, we believe that the future is still being invented — and we want to be the ones building it. For more information, visit www.domino.ai

What your impact will be

As a new-grad Forward Deployed Engineer at Domino, you’ll work directly with customers to help them realize value from the Domino platform while developing custom AI solutions for mission-critical business operations. Unlike traditional engineering roles, FDEs blend data science, devops, & software engineering skills with customer empathy and domain awareness. You’ll partner with experienced FDEs to solve meaningful problems for our customers: enhancing legacy workflows with AI capabilities. You’ll get hands-on experience writing code, designing solutions, and delivering impact in real-world, high-stakes environments from healthcare and life sciences to finance, government, and beyond.

At Domino, we trust our new-grad engineers to contribute to critical and high-visibility projects from the start. You’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on your team and the company as a whole beginning on day one.

What we look for in this role

  • Passion for AI/ML, data science, and its real-world applications
  • Experience coding in at least one industry-standard programming language (Python or R strongly preferred)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with an interest in customer-facing work
  • Graduating in Spring 2027, pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field

What we value

  • We strongly believe in the value of growing a diverse team and encourage people of all backgrounds, genders, ethnicities, abilities, and sexual orientations to apply
  • We value a growth mindset. High-performing creative individuals who dig into problems and see the opportunities for success
  • We believe in individuals who seek truth and speak the truth and can be their whole selves at work
  • We value all of you that believe improving is always possible. At Domino, everything is a work in progress – we can do better at everything
  • We emphasize an environment of teaching and learning to equip employees with the tools needed to be successful in their function and the company

Which visas can work for this job

Occupation: Data Scientists (SOC 15-2051).

  • Mentioned in the listing

    H-1B

  • H-1B cap-exempt employer

Regular cap-subject employer — a new H-1B needs to win the lottery in March (unless you already hold cap-counted H-1B status).

  • TN (citizens of Canada and Mexico)

This kind of role may fit the USMCA profession “Mathematician / Statistician” — it depends on the actual duties. No lottery, no cap; you need the matching degree or license.

  • E-3 (Australia) and H-1B1 (Chile, Singapore)

Same degree requirement as H-1B, but no lottery and a separate quota that is rarely filled.

  • O-1 (extraordinary ability)

For candidates with awards, publications, press, a high salary or critical roles at distinguished organizations. No cap, no lottery; the employer files a petition.

  • STEM OPT extension (F-1 students)

Requires an E-Verify employer. We didn't find this company in the E-Verify list — ask HR.

  • Green card (EB-2 / EB-3 via PERM)

Filed 3 PERM labor certifications: they have a track record of sponsoring permanent residence.

Salary vs prevailing wage

Level IV (fully competent)

Data Scientists · New York (state median of areas). Annual prevailing wages set by the Department of Labor (OFLC).

L1L2L3L4
LevelPrevailing wageH-1B lottery odds*
Level I$64,251~15%
Level II$85,748~31%
Level III$106,434~46%
Level IV$126,392~61%

This job pays $150,000–$165,000 a year — that's Level IV (fully competent). In the wage-weighted H-1B lottery a Level IV registration gets 4 entries; estimated selection chance about 61% — better than average.

* Odds are DHS projections for the FY2027 wage-weighted lottery (actual results vary by year and employer). Since the FY2027 cap season the H-1B lottery is weighted by wage level: Level I = 1 entry, II = 2, III = 3, IV = 4. The level is set by the offered wage against the prevailing wage for the occupation and worksite. Separately, a $100,000 fee for new H-1B petitions for workers outside the US was announced in 2025; as of September 2026 a federal court ruling keeps it unenforceable while appeals continue — check the current status.
