Job description

Compounding Pharmacist – 503A
San Antonio, TX | Relocation Assistance | H-1B Sponsorship Available

Join a growing compounding pharmacy in San Antonio with the unique opportunity to work alongside a 503B outsourcing facility and expand your career into advanced pharmaceutical compounding.

We are looking for an experienced pharmacist from retail, infusion, IV, specialty, or compounding pharmacy who is ready for the next step. Prior 503A compounding experience is preferred, but not required for the right candidate.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding under USP <795>, <797> and <800>.
  • Verify prescriptions, formulations, calculations and compounded preparations.
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians.
  • Maintain quality, documentation and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with prescribers and healthcare professionals.
  • Help develop new formulations and expand our specialty compounding programs.

What We're Looking For

  • PharmD or BS Pharmacy.
  • Active Texas pharmacist license, or ability to obtain one.
  • 5+ years of stable pharmacist experience preferred.
  • Retail, hospital, IV, infusion, specialty or compounding experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, leadership and communication skills.
  • Interest in building a long-term career in advanced compounding.

Why Join Us

  • Competitive salary
  • Relocation assistance
  • H-1B sponsorship/transfer available for qualified candidates
  • Leadership and advancement opportunities
  • Training in advanced compounding and exposure to 503B operations
  • Work with specialty formulations, hormone therapies, IV nutrition and other innovative therapies
  • Medical, dental and vision benefits

Ready to move beyond traditional pharmacy and build a career in advanced compounding? We'd like to hear from you.

One other change I strongly recommend: don't put “peptides” prominently in the Indeed posting. It can distract candidates from what is otherwise a legitimate pharmacist career opportunity. Sell the job as advanced/specialty compounding + leadership + 503B exposure. That is a much stronger recruiting proposition.

Pay: $62.00 - $75.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • 401(k)
  • 401(k) matching
  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Health savings account

Visa sponsorship record

No public sponsorship records found

We didn't find H-1B, H-1B1, E-3 or green card (PERM) filings under the name ApocusRx in the Department of Labor and USCIS data. That doesn't mean the job can't be sponsored — the company may file under a different legal name, be new to sponsorship, or sponsor a visa that isn't in these datasets (for example H-2B or J-1).

Tip: ask the recruiter early, in writing, which visa they sponsor and whether they cover the legal and filing fees.

Occupation: Pharmacists (SOC 29-1051) — estimated from the job title.

  • Mentioned in the listing

    H-1B

  • H-1B cap-exempt employer

Regular cap-subject employer — a new H-1B needs to win the lottery in March (unless you already hold cap-counted H-1B status).

  • TN (citizens of Canada and Mexico)

This kind of role may fit the USMCA profession “Pharmacist” — it depends on the actual duties. No lottery, no cap; you need the matching degree or license.

  • E-3 (Australia) and H-1B1 (Chile, Singapore)

Same degree requirement as H-1B, but no lottery and a separate quota that is rarely filled.

  • O-1 (extraordinary ability)

For candidates with awards, publications, press, a high salary or critical roles at distinguished organizations. No cap, no lottery; the employer files a petition.

Salary vs prevailing wage

Level II (qualified)

Pharmacists · San Antonio-New Braunfels, TX. Annual prevailing wages set by the Department of Labor (OFLC).

LevelPrevailing wageH-1B lottery odds*
Level I$106,746~15%
Level II$122,990~31%
Level III$139,235~46%
Level IV$155,480~61%

This job pays $128,960–$156,000 a year (converted from an hourly rate, 2,080 hours) — that's Level II (qualified). In the wage-weighted H-1B lottery a Level II registration gets 2 entries; estimated selection chance about 31%.

* Odds are DHS projections for the FY2027 wage-weighted lottery (actual results vary by year and employer). Since the FY2027 cap season the H-1B lottery is weighted by wage level: Level I = 1 entry, II = 2, III = 3, IV = 4. The level is set by the offered wage against the prevailing wage for the occupation and worksite. Separately, a $100,000 fee for new H-1B petitions for workers outside the US was announced in 2025; as of September 2026 a federal court ruling keeps it unenforceable while appeals continue — check the current status.
