Position Overview

Location: UPMC Hamot

Address: 201 State Street, Erie, PA 16550

Status: Full-time role with flexible scheduling of 15 shifts monthly (combination of days and nights, with a maximum of 5 night shifts per month).

Coverage Areas: Medical, Cardiovascular, Trauma, Surgical, and Neuro ICU beds.

Immigration Status: We welcome J1 Waiver and H-1B candidates for positions starting in 2028 and beyond.

About the Role

We are looking for a full-time Intensivist to join our adult critical care team at UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pennsylvania. This is an excellent opportunity to provide advanced, collaborative care to critically ill patients in a high-acuity regional referral center. Our goal is to establish a premier center of excellence for critical care at UPMC Hamot.

  • Modern radiology suite equipped with a 3T MRI and designed with patient-centered layouts.
  • Opportunities to educate emergency medicine and neurology residents.
  • All ICUs recognized as Beacon Units (Silver and Gold).
  • Comprehensive Cardiac Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO from an accredited medical institution.
  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine residency program.
  • Completion of an accredited Critical Care Fellowship program.
  • Open to recent fellowship-trained physicians.
  • American Board Eligible or Certified in Critical Care Medicine.
  • Ability to secure an unrestricted Pennsylvania Medical License and necessary credentials.
  • DEA certification.
