Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and deliver production AI-first enterprise applications across full-stack systems, cloud-native services, and applied AI.
  • Design agentic and retrieval-based systems utilizing LLMs, RAG, embeddings, tool calling, and multi-step workflows.
  • Establish robust practices for AI evaluation, guardrails, security, observability, reliability, latency, and cost management.
  • Translate ambiguous business problems into scalable technical architectures and drive complex initiatives through production.
  • Build reusable engineering patterns and shared capabilities applicable across multiple applications and development teams.
  • Drive AI-native engineering practices using tools like Cursor and Claude Code while mentoring engineers and raising technical standards.

Qualifications

Note:

While the Company will consider applicants who have current work authorization and require a transfer of an existing H-1B visa, the Company is not currently considering applicants who require new visa sponsorship (including new H-1B petitions) or individuals currently in OPT/CPT status who will require future sponsorship to maintain work authorization.

Required Qualifications

  • Senior: 5+ years of software engineering experience (or 3+ with a Master’s degree).
  • Staff: 8+ years of software engineering experience (or 6+ with a Master’s degree, or 3+ with a PhD).
  • Strong full-stack and distributed systems engineering experience with demonstrated ownership of complex production systems.
  • Production experience designing and building AI-integrated systems using LLMs, RAG, embeddings, tool calling, or agentic workflows.
  • Experience with AI orchestration, retrieval, evaluation, guardrails, human-in-the-loop workflows, and production observability.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, enterprise data, cloud-native architecture, security, reliability, and production operations.
  • Proven ability to translate ambiguous problems into clear technical architectures and influence technical direction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js/NestJS, React, Python, and SQL.

Which visas can work for this job

Occupation: Software Developers (SOC 15-1252).

  • Mentioned in the listing

    H-1B

  • H-1B cap-exempt employer

Regular cap-subject employer — a new H-1B needs to win the lottery in March (unless you already hold cap-counted H-1B status).

  • TN (citizens of Canada and Mexico)

This kind of role may fit the USMCA profession “Computer Systems Analyst (or Engineer, for engineering-degree holders)” — it depends on the actual duties. No lottery, no cap; you need the matching degree or license.

  • E-3 (Australia) and H-1B1 (Chile, Singapore)

This employer has filed before (E-3 Australian: 11, H-1B1 Chile: 1, H-1B1 Singapore: 4). Same degree requirement as H-1B, but no lottery and a separate quota that is rarely filled.

  • O-1 (extraordinary ability)

For candidates with awards, publications, press, a high salary or critical roles at distinguished organizations. No cap, no lottery; the employer files a petition.

  • STEM OPT extension (F-1 students)

Requires an E-Verify employer. We didn't find this company in the E-Verify list — ask HR.

  • Green card (EB-2 / EB-3 via PERM)

Filed 327 PERM labor certifications: they have a track record of sponsoring permanent residence.

Salary vs prevailing wage

Below Level I

Software Developers · San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, CA. Annual prevailing wages set by the Department of Labor (OFLC).

L1L2L3L4
LevelPrevailing wageH-1B lottery odds*
Level I$152,797~15%
Level II$187,075~31%
Level III$221,374~46%
Level IV$255,653~61%

This job pays $144,200 a year — below the Level I prevailing wage. For H-1B the employer must pay at least the prevailing wage, so the offer would have to go up.

* Odds are DHS projections for the FY2027 wage-weighted lottery (actual results vary by year and employer). Since the FY2027 cap season the H-1B lottery is weighted by wage level: Level I = 1 entry, II = 2, III = 3, IV = 4. The level is set by the offered wage against the prevailing wage for the occupation and worksite. Separately, a $100,000 fee for new H-1B petitions for workers outside the US was announced in 2025; as of September 2026 a federal court ruling keeps it unenforceable while appeals continue — check the current status.
