About the Job
The Dunham-Jackson Postdoctoral Associate is a three-year appointment in the School of Mathematics at the University of Minnesota that will begin in the fall semester 2027. We seek candidates with demonstrated excellence in research and teaching. Preference will be given to applicants whose research interests are compatible with faculty in the department. The position has a teaching load of three one-semester courses per academic year. Salary is competitive. Job Duties:
(50%) Research:
Conduct high quality research and disseminate the results through publications and invited talks and conferences.
Participate in the research mission of the department, especially through interaction with faculty and students.
Participate in and organize research seminars.
(40%) Teaching:
Develop and teach up to three courses per academic year. Possible assignments range from introductory to advanced undergraduate and even occasionally graduate level classes.
Advise students regarding both specific coursework and broader academic or career goals. Opportunities exist to advise undergraduate students in directed reading or project-based courses.
(10%) Training, Outreach and Service:
Engage with departmental student organizations at both the graduate and undergraduate level.
Continue personal growth within the profession, keep current with the field, and broaden knowledge and expertise.
Contribute to outreach activities that support the department's mission.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Ph. D or equivalent degree in mathematics or a closely related field.

The School of Mathematics, located in the heart of the University of Minnesota's College of Science and Engineering, features over sixty faculty and more than 120 graduate students engaged in world-class research across all areas of mathematics.
