Job description
Spectrum Search is partnered with an early-stage AI technology company building enterprise software for a traditionally underserved industry. The company is looking for its first marketing hire to build the function from the ground up, owning positioning, content, demand generation and sales enablement.
About the opportunity
This is a hands-on zero-to-one marketing role for someone who has built within an early-stage B2B SaaS environment. Working closely with the founders and sales team, the Founding Marketing Lead will turn technical product capabilities into clear customer value and establish the marketing foundations needed to generate qualified enterprise pipeline.
The role combines strategic ownership with direct execution. There is no established marketing team or agency playbook, so the successful candidate will be comfortable setting direction, producing content and testing channels independently.
The role
You will own the company’s core messaging and market presence while developing repeatable approaches to content, events and pipeline generation. You will work closely with commercial stakeholders to understand customer challenges, sharpen positioning and ensure sales has effective materials throughout the buying process.
The role also offers scope to build and lead a marketing team as the organisation grows.
Key responsibilities
- Own messaging and positioning across the company’s key audiences and channels
- Create marketing content directly, including case studies, customer stories, blog posts, newsletters, LinkedIn content and website updates
- Translate technical product capabilities into compelling value propositions for non-technical enterprise buyers
- Build and manage conference and event activity, including event selection, sponsorship, logistics, outreach and pipeline follow-up
- Experiment with demand generation channels including LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads, Meta Ads and creative campaigns
- Use generative AI tools and modern workflows to improve marketing productivity and content production
- Partner closely with sales to develop collateral, demo materials and objection-handling resources
- Measure marketing activity against qualified pipeline and continuously refine channel strategy
Essential requirements
- Demonstrable experience building or scaling marketing from zero to one within an early-stage B2B SaaS company
- Experience operating as a founding marketer, first marketing hire or similarly autonomous marketing lead
- A portfolio of self-produced marketing content such as case studies, articles, newsletters, website copy or social content
- Strong ability to translate technical features into commercially relevant customer value
- Hands-on experience managing multiple growth and demand generation channels
- Practical experience with paid advertising platforms such as LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads or Meta Ads
- Comfortable working independently across both marketing strategy and execution
- Experience using AI tools to improve content creation or broader marketing workflows
- Ability to work closely with founders and sales teams in an early-stage environment
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in construction technology, property technology, enterprise systems, vertical AI or data infrastructure
- Experience marketing complex B2B software to enterprise organisations
- Familiarity with tools such as Clay
Location and remote setup
This is a full-time hybrid role based in New York City. Candidates must be able to work from the New York office three days per week, Tuesday to Thursday. The position involves travel for conferences and events, with periods of increased travel during the main event season. Visa sponsorship and transfers, including OPT and H1B, are available.
Visa sponsorship record
No public sponsorship records foundWe didn't find H-1B, H-1B1, E-3 or green card (PERM) filings under the name Spectrum Search in the Department of Labor and USCIS data. That doesn't mean the job can't be sponsored — the company may file under a different legal name, be new to sponsorship, or sponsor a visa that isn't in these datasets (for example H-2B or J-1).
Tip: ask the recruiter early, in writing, which visa they sponsor and whether they cover the legal and filing fees.
