Job description

Job Title: Salesforce Manual & Functional QA Tester

Location: Wilmington, DE. Travel to client site when needed.

Experience: 10+ Years

Visa Requirement: H1B

Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Salesforce Functional / Manual Tester to join our Quality Assurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for validating custom workflows, declarative configurations, and end-to-end business processes across our Salesforce ecosystem. You will design comprehensive test scenarios, execute manual test passes, verify role-based security access, and collaborate directly with Salesforce Administrators, Developers, Business Analysts, and release teams to ensure defect-free deployments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Planning & Design: Analyze business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to design detailed test scenarios, test cases, and Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTM).
  • Functional & End-to-End Testing: Execute manual functional, system integration, regression, exploratory, and smoke testing across Salesforce modules (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, or CPQ).
  • Declarative Feature Validation: Test standard and custom objects, validation rules, Flow automations, approval processes, formula fields, page layouts, and picklist dependencies.
  • Security & Access Verification: Verify Organization-Wide Defaults (OWD), Role Hierarchies, Sharing Rules, Profiles, and Permission Sets by testing scenarios under different user personas.
  • Integration & API Testing: Validate bidirectional data flows and REST/SOAP API integrations between Salesforce and third-party systems using tools like Postman.
  • Defect Life Cycle Management: Log, prioritize, track, and re-test bugs using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps, providing clear reproduction steps and log captures.
  • Release & UAT Support: Validate triannual Salesforce seasonal releases in sandbox environments, participate in deployment sanity checks, and assist business stakeholders during User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 3 to 6+ years of hands-on software QA testing experience, with at least 2–3 years focused primarily on the Salesforce.com (SFDC) platform.
  • Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of Salesforce standard data models (Leads, Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Cases) and core platform capabilities.
  • Methodology: Strong grasp of Agile/Scrum development methodologies, SDLC, and STLC.
  • Security Model: Demonstrated ability to configure test users and execute tests across diverse profiles, permission sets, and sharing settings.
  • Tooling: Experience with Jira, Confluence, TestRail, Zephyr, or ADO; familiarity with Postman for basic API call verification.
  • Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting test evidence and communicating with both technical teams and non-technical business users.

Which visas can work for this job

Occupation: Computer Systems Analysts (SOC 15-1211) — estimated from the job title.

  • Mentioned in the listing

    H-1B

  • H-1B cap-exempt employer

Regular cap-subject employer — a new H-1B needs to win the lottery in March (unless you already hold cap-counted H-1B status).

  • TN (citizens of Canada and Mexico)

This kind of role may fit the USMCA profession “Computer Systems Analyst (or Engineer, for engineering-degree holders)” — it depends on the actual duties. No lottery, no cap; you need the matching degree or license.

  • E-3 (Australia) and H-1B1 (Chile, Singapore)

Same degree requirement as H-1B, but no lottery and a separate quota that is rarely filled.

  • O-1 (extraordinary ability)

For candidates with awards, publications, press, a high salary or critical roles at distinguished organizations. No cap, no lottery; the employer files a petition.

  • STEM OPT extension (F-1 students)

Requires an E-Verify employer. We didn't find this company in the E-Verify list — ask HR.

  • Green card (EB-2 / EB-3 via PERM)

Filed 1 PERM labor certification: they have a track record of sponsoring permanent residence.

Salary vs prevailing wage

Computer Systems Analysts · Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington, PA-NJ-DE-MD. Annual prevailing wages set by the Department of Labor (OFLC).

LevelPrevailing wageH-1B lottery odds*
Level I$76,190~15%
Level II$93,309~31%
Level III$110,406~46%
Level IV$127,525~61%

The listing has no salary, so we can't place it on a wage level. Ask the employer which wage level they'd file at: Level III–IV registrations get 3–4 entries in the H-1B lottery.

* Odds are DHS projections for the FY2027 wage-weighted lottery (actual results vary by year and employer). Since the FY2027 cap season the H-1B lottery is weighted by wage level: Level I = 1 entry, II = 2, III = 3, IV = 4. The level is set by the offered wage against the prevailing wage for the occupation and worksite. Separately, a $100,000 fee for new H-1B petitions for workers outside the US was announced in 2025; as of September 2026 a federal court ruling keeps it unenforceable while appeals continue — check the current status.
