Job description

Profound is the fastest-growing AI marketing platform, used by 15% of the Fortune 500 including Comcast, Estée Lauder, and Walmart, and innovators like Ramp, MongoDB, and Figma. It is where marketing teams do the work: research, briefs, content, campaigns, reporting, all in one place, alongside agents that carry the load with them.

Built on 2B+ real user prompts and growing, Profound’s data shows you what people ask AI and what the models say back. Profound's AI Marketer joins that data with deep context about our customers to find the opportunities worth acting on, and then puts agents to work: automating reporting, drafting content, auditing pages for readability, running competitive research. It measures what works and gets better every day.

Profound is on a mission to help companies understand and control their AI presence. As an Analytics Engineer, you will build and own the product analytics foundation at Profound. You will define success metrics, map the user journey, and uncover insights that shape how we build and improve the product. Your work will help the entire company understand what drives engagement, where users drop off, and how we can make the platform more valuable to our customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain dashboards to track product usage, funnels, retention, activation, user journey paths, and feature adoption
  • Define and maintain core product metrics and ensure they are modeled cleanly and reliably
  • Analyze user journeys to identify friction, improve activation, and drive growth
  • Respond to one-off customer analysis requests by delivering custom solutions and insights
  • Conduct customer-level and segment analyses to support sales, marketing, and customer success
  • Partner with engineers to instrument events, maintain data ingestion pipelines, and uphold high data quality

Who You Are

  • Fluency in SQL and experience with Python
  • Experience working on product analytics including funnels, retention, user journeys, and activation
  • Strong data modeling skills and a clean approach to defining metrics
  • Experience at a B2B SaaS or product-focused company
  • 3 or more years of experience in analytics, data, or product roles focused on user behavior and product usage
  • Strong product sense and ability to turn data into clear insights for product and go-to-market teams
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for data quality and reliability
  • Motivated by ownership of the entire product analytics function at an early stage company
  • Interested in shaping how usage is measured and how product decisions are made
  • Excited by close collaboration with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with trust and autonomy
  • Drawn to competitive compensation and meaningful equity

Location

This is an on-site role based in our Union Square, NYC office, designed for builders who thrive on speed, iteration, and meaningful impact. We are happy to support visa sponsorship for qualified international candidates.

For this role, the expected base salary range is $180,000 to $260,000. Profound’s total compensation package is designed to be competitive and includes base salary, equity, and a full range of benefits and perks. Final compensation will depend on factors such as your skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and will be determined during the interview process. Our recruiting team will share more details about the full compensation package and benefits as you move through hiring.

Which visas can work for this job

Occupation: Software Developers (SOC 15-1252).

  • H-1B cap-exempt employer

Regular cap-subject employer — a new H-1B needs to win the lottery in March (unless you already hold cap-counted H-1B status).

  • TN (citizens of Canada and Mexico)

This kind of role may fit the USMCA profession “Computer Systems Analyst (or Engineer, for engineering-degree holders)” — it depends on the actual duties. No lottery, no cap; you need the matching degree or license.

  • E-3 (Australia) and H-1B1 (Chile, Singapore)

Same degree requirement as H-1B, but no lottery and a separate quota that is rarely filled.

  • O-1 (extraordinary ability)

For candidates with awards, publications, press, a high salary or critical roles at distinguished organizations. No cap, no lottery; the employer files a petition.

  • STEM OPT extension (F-1 students)

Requires an E-Verify employer. We didn't find this company in the E-Verify list — ask HR.

  • Green card (EB-2 / EB-3 via PERM)

Filed 1 PERM labor certification: they have a track record of sponsoring permanent residence.

Salary vs prevailing wage

Level IV (fully competent)

Software Developers · New York (state median of areas). Annual prevailing wages set by the Department of Labor (OFLC).

L1L2L3L4
LevelPrevailing wageH-1B lottery odds*
Level I$84,937~15%
Level II$107,244~31%
Level III$128,658~46%
Level IV$149,208~61%

This job pays $180,000–$260,000 a year — that's Level IV (fully competent). In the wage-weighted H-1B lottery a Level IV registration gets 4 entries; estimated selection chance about 61% — better than average.

* Odds are DHS projections for the FY2027 wage-weighted lottery (actual results vary by year and employer). Since the FY2027 cap season the H-1B lottery is weighted by wage level: Level I = 1 entry, II = 2, III = 3, IV = 4. The level is set by the offered wage against the prevailing wage for the occupation and worksite. Separately, a $100,000 fee for new H-1B petitions for workers outside the US was announced in 2025; as of September 2026 a federal court ruling keeps it unenforceable while appeals continue — check the current status.
