Job description

Growth Engineer, Product Growth (Full-Stack)

Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid, 3+ days a week in office)

Pay: $235,000 – $260,000 + competitive equity

Job type: Full-time, permanent

Work authorization: Open to candidates already authorized to work in the US (citizens, green card holders, EAD holders), H-1B transfers, F-1 OPT and STEM OPT, TN (Canada and Mexico), and E-3 (Australia). No new H-1B sponsorship and no O-1 at this time.

About the company

A fast-growing AI infrastructure company that turns any website into clean, LLM-ready data for AI agents. It hit eight figures in ARR in year one, more than doubled it in year two, and just raised a $75M Series B. Its open-source project has 180,000+ GitHub stars, and it's a team of about 40 people who each own a real piece of the product.

About the role

You'll write the code that turns developers who discover the product into developers who rely on it every day. This is a full-stack engineering role focused entirely on growth. You'll own signup, activation, onboarding, and conversion, and you'll be measured on the funnel metrics you move, not just the features you ship.

What you'll do

  • Own the growth surfaces end to end: signup, activation, onboarding, and conversion
  • Instrument the funnel, run experiments, and ship changes that move real metrics
  • Build full-stack, from the frontend developers first touch to the backend behind it
  • Own conversion and activation as your number: measure it and move it
  • Work close to the data, form hypotheses, test them, and iterate fast

Requirements

  • 5–10 years as a full-stack engineer, including time on growth or product-led growth (PLG) products
  • Individual contributor experience at an early- or growth-stage startup
  • You've personally owned a conversion, activation, or funnel metric, and moved it
  • Real A/B testing experience, including what you learned when tests didn't work
  • Strong TypeScript, Node.js, and React
  • Experience shipping at a dev-tools or SaaS company
  • Experience building with LLMs in production (prompting, tool use, inference pipelines)
  • Steady tenure. They want someone who sees their work through.

Nice to have

  • In-product growth work: onboarding, activation, upgrade flows, in-product guidance
  • Developer-facing products: SDKs, playgrounds, docs, APIs
  • Their stack: Next.js, React, Tailwind, TypeScript, Vercel, PostgreSQL, Redis, and the Anthropic Claude API

This role is not for:

  • Growth marketers. This is an engineering role that writes production code.
  • Backend-only or frontend-only specialists
  • Engineers who've shipped features but never owned an outcome
  • Candidates with a pattern of short stints
  • Agency, consulting-only, or GTM-ops backgrounds

To apply, answer these in your own words:

  • What funnel metric have you personally owned, and how much did you move it?
  • Describe an A/B test that didn't go as planned and what you learned.
  • What have you built with LLMs in production?
  • What is your current work authorization status, and are you able to work hybrid (3+ days a week) in San Francisco?
  • What are your salary expectations?

Visa sponsorship record

No public sponsorship records found

We didn't find H-1B, H-1B1, E-3 or green card (PERM) filings under the name EMT Groupe, LLC in the Department of Labor and USCIS data. That doesn't mean the job can't be sponsored — the company may file under a different legal name, be new to sponsorship, or sponsor a visa that isn't in these datasets (for example H-2B or J-1).

Tip: ask the recruiter early, in writing, which visa they sponsor and whether they cover the legal and filing fees.

Which visas can work for this job

Occupation: Software Developers (SOC 15-1252).

  • Mentioned in the listing

    H-1B, OPT

  • H-1B cap-exempt employer

Regular cap-subject employer — a new H-1B needs to win the lottery in March (unless you already hold cap-counted H-1B status).

  • TN (citizens of Canada and Mexico)

This kind of role may fit the USMCA profession “Computer Systems Analyst (or Engineer, for engineering-degree holders)” — it depends on the actual duties. No lottery, no cap; you need the matching degree or license.

  • E-3 (Australia) and H-1B1 (Chile, Singapore)

Same degree requirement as H-1B, but no lottery and a separate quota that is rarely filled.

  • O-1 (extraordinary ability)

For candidates with awards, publications, press, a high salary or critical roles at distinguished organizations. No cap, no lottery; the employer files a petition.

  • STEM OPT extension (F-1 students)

Requires an E-Verify employer. We didn't find this company in the E-Verify list — ask HR.

Salary vs prevailing wage

Level IV (fully competent)

Software Developers · San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont, CA. Annual prevailing wages set by the Department of Labor (OFLC).

L1L2L3L4
LevelPrevailing wageH-1B lottery odds*
Level I$137,093~15%
Level II$165,131~31%
Level III$193,149~46%
Level IV$221,187~61%

This job pays $235,000–$260,000 a year — that's Level IV (fully competent). In the wage-weighted H-1B lottery a Level IV registration gets 4 entries; estimated selection chance about 61% — better than average.

* Odds are DHS projections for the FY2027 wage-weighted lottery (actual results vary by year and employer). Since the FY2027 cap season the H-1B lottery is weighted by wage level: Level I = 1 entry, II = 2, III = 3, IV = 4. The level is set by the offered wage against the prevailing wage for the occupation and worksite. Separately, a $100,000 fee for new H-1B petitions for workers outside the US was announced in 2025; as of September 2026 a federal court ruling keeps it unenforceable while appeals continue — check the current status.
