Job description

Begin date: 12/1/2026

Full Time: Yes

Number of Workers Requested: 30

Job Duties: During the winter off-season, when warm-season turf is dormant and daily mowing and grooming demand has ceased, the worker assists the golf course's skilled maintenance, repair, and grounds staff — including the equipment mechanic, Dir. of Agronomy, Mgmt Supt., and Golf Course Supt. — with off-season repair, servicing, and renovation of equipment, structures, cart paths, bridges, and grounds infrastructure. All duties are general, non-specialized helper labor performed under close and continuous direction; the worker does not inspect, diagnose, test, or independently determine or perform repairs, and no independent technical judgment, professional certification, or specialized trade license is required for any duty. The worker assists skilled staff by furnishing, carrying, holding, and staging tools, parts, materials, and supplies at the work site, by cleaning and preparing work areas, equipment, and tools before and after skilled staff perform their work, and by performing the routine, lower-skill portions of each task under direction. In support of turf-equipment servicing, the worker cleans and details equipment, checks and tops off tire inflation and fluid levels as directed, applies grease, wax, soap, water, and touch-up spray paint, and hands tools and parts to the mechanic, using an air compressor, grease gun, and basic hand tools, while the mechanic performs all diagnostic work, reel grinding, blade calibration, and repairs. In support of irrigation and drainage work, the worker locates and clears debris from irrigation heads, sprinkler lines, swales, drain lines, and catch basins, digs and backfills by hand where directed, and carries and holds pipe, heads, and fittings for skilled staff, who perform the actual inspection, testing, valve and head repair, and component replacement. In support of bridge and structural work, the worker pressure-washes, fastens deck boards, and applies stain or sealant under direction, and hands tools and materials to skilled staff, using a battery screw gun or impact driver, basic hand tools, a pressure washer, a pump sprayer, and a paint brush; formal carpentry training is not required, and skilled staff direct and perform the structural repairs. In support of cart-path and access-road work, the worker rakes, grades, and smooths decomposed-granite surfaces by hand, fills small potholes with material provided, and edges, sweeps, blows, and washes concrete surfaces, using shovels, rakes, edgers, string trimmers, backpack blowers, buffalo turbine blowers, utility vehicles, and appropriate PPE, without operating heavy equipment. In support of bunker renovation, the worker moves and places sand, rakes and shapes cavities, and holds and positions liner material while skilled staff perform the reshaping, liner repair, and regrading. The worker also clears debris to keep swales, low points, and managed wetland and native buffer areas draining freely; assists with push-behind or tow-behind turf aeration; performs directed winter turf-protection tasks such as basic moisture checks and placing protective coverings on greens and sensitive zones; assists with small, occasional spot applications of pre-approved plant protectants and herbicides (Roundup, Fusilade, Triclopyr) in naturalized areas using a pump sprayer and utility vehicle with proper PPE, exercising no judgment over chemical selection, mixing, or placement, all of which the Dir. of Agronomy, Mgmt Supt., or Golf Course Supt. determine; assists with routine tree care and protection; assists skilled staff with off-season project labor such as erosion control, sod installation, bunker restoration, wetland cleanup, and native-landscape enhancement, using shovels, rakes, sod cutters, utility vehicles, hand saws, pruners, string trimmers, push mowers, sand, soil, and erosion matting; and keeps facility grounds, work areas, and equipment storage areas organized and clean using blowers, hoses, brooms, and shovels.

Job Classification: 49-9098.00 - Helpers--Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Workers

Experience Required: No

Special Requirements: This is an entry-level helper position. No prior golf course, landscaping, or groundskeeping experience is required. The worker must be able to follow instructions and to assist and support skilled maintenance, repair, and grounds staff; the ability to take direction and work as part of a crew is required, and any prior general labor, maintenance-support, or building and grounds helper experience is helpful but not required. Formal trade training, licensure, and mechanic or trade certification are not required, and the worker exercises no independent technical or diagnostic judgment. The worker must have the ability to stand, walk, handle objects with hands, reach with arms, climb or maintain balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Because the position involves carrying and staging tools, parts, and materials for the skilled staff, the worker must be able to repeatedly lift, carry, and maneuver materials, equipment components, and tools weighing up to 75 pounds, and to team-lift heavier items such as bridge decking, drainage pipe, and equipment assemblies. Vision abilities such as near vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus are required. The worker must be able to handle and operate basic hand tools, power tools, and equipment-servicing tools such as grease guns, air compressors, impact drivers, pressure washers, blowers, shovels, and rakes; this position does not involve the routine operation of mowing equipment. The worker must be able to work long hours and flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Because the period of need runs from December through February, the worker must be able to perform sustained outdoor physical labor throughout the shift in cold season conditions, including near-freezing and sub-freezing early-morning temperatures, frost, cold wind, and wet or damp ground. The worker must behave courteously and conscientiously toward golfers, members, guests, and homeowners, practice safety on the job with minimal disruption to play, return all equipment to designated locations, keep work and maintenance areas clean and clutter-free, work effectively as part of a team, and show self-motivation and consistent, dependable attendance. On-the-job training is provided. Each applicant (U.S. and H-2B workers alike) must complete the Employer's standard online employment application as part of the hiring process. The application is uniformly required of all candidates and does not impose additional or different requirements on U.S. workers. The workers will be subject to drug testing upon reasonable suspicion, paid by the employer, and applied equally to all workers, U.S. and foreign/H-2B. The workers are subject to employment criminal background checks, paid by the employer and applied equally to all workers, U.S. and foreign/H-2B.

Visa sponsorship record

No public sponsorship records found

We didn't find H-1B, H-1B1, E-3 or green card (PERM) filings under the name Omni PGA Frisco Resort in the Department of Labor and USCIS data. That doesn't mean the job can't be sponsored — the company may file under a different legal name, be new to sponsorship, or sponsor a visa that isn't in these datasets (for example H-2B or J-1).

Tip: ask the recruiter early, in writing, which visa they sponsor and whether they cover the legal and filing fees.

Which visas can work for this job

Occupation: Construction Laborers (SOC 47-2061) — estimated from the job title.

  • Mentioned in the listing

    H-2B

  • H-2B / H-2A (seasonal and temporary work)

Temporary non-agricultural (H-2B) or agricultural (H-2A) jobs. The employer files a labor certification and petition; you apply for the visa at a US consulate. H-2B has a yearly cap of 66,000 (plus supplemental visas); H-2A has no cap.

  • EB-3 “other workers” green card

Permanent residence for jobs that need less than 2 years of training. Waits for this category are long (often several years).

  • H-1B

H-1B needs a role that requires at least a bachelor's degree, so it's usually not an option here.

Salary vs prevailing wage

LevelPrevailing wageH-1B lottery odds*
Level I$35,173~15%
Level II$39,458~31%
Level III$43,722~46%
Level IV$48,006~61%

The listing has no salary, so we can't place it on a wage level. Ask the employer which wage level they'd file at: Level III–IV registrations get 3–4 entries in the H-1B lottery.

* Odds are DHS projections for the FY2027 wage-weighted lottery (actual results vary by year and employer). Since the FY2027 cap season the H-1B lottery is weighted by wage level: Level I = 1 entry, II = 2, III = 3, IV = 4. The level is set by the offered wage against the prevailing wage for the occupation and worksite. Separately, a $100,000 fee for new H-1B petitions for workers outside the US was announced in 2025; as of September 2026 a federal court ruling keeps it unenforceable while appeals continue — check the current status.
