Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hospital Medicine Position Overview School / Campus / College: School of Medicine Organization: Pediatrics, Hospital Medicine Title: Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hospital Medicine

Position Details Position Description The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hospital Medicine, at the University of Washington invites applications for two full-time faculty positions at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 2027. Rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. Clinical appointments align with a 12-month service period (July 1 – June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. As the second largest Department at the University of Washington School of Medicine, Pediatrics has twenty-one clinical divisions with approximately 1,400 academic appointments, including approximately 650 paid faculty members, 134 residents, 70 ACGME fellows, 230 staff employees and over 600 volunteer/affiliate faculty and continues to grow each year. The Department of Pediatrics is a close affiliate of Seattle Children's Hospital (SCH) and Seattle Children's Research Institute (SCRI). Faculty members appointed in the Department are located at various institutions (including Seattle Children's, UW Medicine, and Harborview) and are part of the Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) clinical practice plan. The successful candidate will be expected to attend on the General Medicine resident service for 7-day rotations. We provide direct supervision and bedside/didactic teaching of rotating residents and medical students. We also provide 24/7 in-house coverage for the General Medicine non-resident service which also includes daytime supervision and teaching of rotating medical students and advanced practice providers. Lastly, this position will include an attending service at Evergreen Hospital for both newborn care and inpatient pediatric care. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, scholarship, and service. Candidates will be considered across a range of interests in hospital medicine. The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professor range: $16,908-$20,069 per month ($202,896 - $240,830 annually), Associate Professor range: $19,152 - $23,305 per month ($229,825 - $279,660 annually), Professor range: $23,052 - $28,471 per month ($276,635 - $341,655 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children’s University Medical Group practice plan. Compensation provided by Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Please see additional benefits that may be available: https://faculty.uwmedicine.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/CUMG-Benefits-Summary-for-recruiting.pdf. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative duty supplement (ADS). All University of Washington faculty are expected to engage in teaching, research, and service.
