Job Description

The Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment and the Department of Psychiatry in the School of Medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia (MU) invite applications for an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professional Practice Professor position in Clinical Psychology.

The successful candidate will work primarily at the Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment, providing clinical psychology services to children with autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental conditions and their families.

The Thompson Center is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to advancing clinical care, research, education, and training for individuals with autism and related neurodevelopmental conditions. Designed to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative service delivery, the Center provides a modern, patient- and family-centered environment with advanced clinical spaces, technology, and resources. Faculty work alongside professionals from multiple disciplines, creating opportunities for collaboration, professional growth, and the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care.

Responsibilities May Include

  • Conducting comprehensive psychological and diagnostic assessments
  • Providing evidence-based intervention services
  • Collaborating with other clinical specialties as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Supervising and mentoring trainees, including predoctoral psychology interns and postdoctoral fellows
  • Participating in research, scholarly activities, and other initiatives aligned with the mission of the Thompson Center and School of Medicine

This position offers an opportunity to combine clinical practice, teaching and supervision, interdisciplinary collaboration, and research within an academic medical center committed to improving outcomes for individuals with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology, or equivalent, from an APA-approved program and will have completed postdoctoral training in pediatric psychology prior to the start date. Additionally, applicants must be licensed in the state of Missouri and fully credentialed through the MU Health System prior to the start date.
