Job description
Job Description Summary:
The Senior Software Engineer owns KRS (K Retail Solutions), our live retail platform that runs in-store POS, the store Back Office, KRS Admin, and the KRS Store App across multiple store tenants. This role combines deep, hands-on knowledge of KRS with an AI-driven way of working: the engineer directs AI coding tools in natural language ("vibe coding") to deliver features quickly, while personally owning the system architecture and design decisions that keep KRS reliable. Just as importantly, the engineer reviews, tests, and corrects AI-generated code and designs, as well as vendor deliverables, before anything reaches our stores. As a senior member of the team, the role makes key technical decisions, is accountable for release quality and production stability, and mentors and supports other developers.
Job Description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- AI-Driven Development (Vibe Coding) — Build and enhance KRS features by directing AI coding assistants in natural language. Break work into clear, verifiable tasks, guide the AI through implementation and testing, and deliver working features across POS, checkout and payments, refund/exchange, Back Office, KRS Admin, and the KRS Store App.
- Architecture & Technical Design — Own the KRS architecture on the Odoo framework (KRS Admin on Odoo 18) in a multi-tenant environment. Design integrations with payment terminals and processors (CodePay, Elavon/Converge), the Snowflake data platform, and enterprise systems. Write design documents and decision records, and evaluate vendor designs and effort estimates.
- Review & Correction of AI-Generated and Vendor Work — Review every AI-generated change, design, and estimate before it is merged or accepted. Check it against the business specification and the actual code, find defects, missing work items, and hidden risks (for example, a module dependency that could take POS offline), and correct them. Review vendor merge requests and provide clear feedback.
- Production Quality, Deployment & Incident Response — Own release quality for KRS: feature branches and merge requests, Dev Staging Production deployments through Jenkins, module upgrades across store tenants, and post-deployment verification. Lead root-cause analysis and hotfixes for production issues, especially card-payment, refund, and end-of-day settlement issues, and maintain automated tests.
- KRS Domain Ownership & Stakeholder Collaboration — Serve as the go-to expert on KRS and on store operations. Work with Sales Operations, store teams, the project manager, and vendors to turn specifications and Figma designs into clear, deliverable scope; take part in project meetings and track schedule risks.
- Senior Technical Leadership & Developer Support — Make technical judgment calls, set coding, review, and AI-usage standards, and mentor and support other KRS developers, including helping them adopt AI-driven development safely. Keep technical documentation current.
Qualifications
- Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 8+ years of software development experience, including senior-level ownership of a production business system
- Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants for day-to-day development, and a proven ability to review, test, and correct AI-generated code
- Experience designing software architecture and system integrations (payment processors, ERP, data platforms, third-party APIs)
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Experience with code review, Git-based merge-request workflows, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders
- Preferred
- Development experience with the Odoo framework (Odoo 18 experience is a plus; KRS Admin runs on Odoo 18)
- Experience with POS or retail systems, including card-payment terminal integration (sale, refund, split tender, end-of-day settlement)
- Experience with multi-tenant platforms and offline-capable store applications
- Experience with AWS (EC2, RDS) and Docker
- Experience with Snowflake or similar data-platform integrations
- Experience working with JIRA and Figma-based specifications, and managing external development vendors

Visa sponsorship record
No public sponsorship records foundWe didn't find H-1B, H-1B1, E-3 or green card (PERM) filings under the name Kiss Products in the Department of Labor and USCIS data. That doesn't mean the job can't be sponsored — the company may file under a different legal name, be new to sponsorship, or sponsor a visa that isn't in these datasets (for example H-2B or J-1).
Tip: ask the recruiter early, in writing, which visa they sponsor and whether they cover the legal and filing fees.
Which visas can work for this job
Occupation: Software Developers (SOC 15-1252).
- Mentioned in the listing
H-1B
- H-1B cap-exempt employer
Regular cap-subject employer — a new H-1B needs to win the lottery in March (unless you already hold cap-counted H-1B status).
- TN (citizens of Canada and Mexico)
This kind of role may fit the USMCA profession “Computer Systems Analyst (or Engineer, for engineering-degree holders)” — it depends on the actual duties. No lottery, no cap; you need the matching degree or license.
- E-3 (Australia) and H-1B1 (Chile, Singapore)
Same degree requirement as H-1B, but no lottery and a separate quota that is rarely filled.
- O-1 (extraordinary ability)
For candidates with awards, publications, press, a high salary or critical roles at distinguished organizations. No cap, no lottery; the employer files a petition.
- STEM OPT extension (F-1 students)
Requires an E-Verify employer. We didn't find this company in the E-Verify list — ask HR.
Salary vs prevailing wage
Below Level ISoftware Developers · New York-Newark-Jersey City, NY-NJ. Annual prevailing wages set by the Department of Labor (OFLC).
| Level | Prevailing wage | H-1B lottery odds* |
|---|---|---|
| Level I | $109,845 | ~15% |
| Level II | $137,717 | ~31% |
| Level III | $165,589 | ~46% |
| Level IV | $193,461 | ~61% |
This job pays $69,000–$137,000 a year — below the Level I prevailing wage. For H-1B the employer must pay at least the prevailing wage, so the offer would have to go up.
* Odds are DHS projections for the FY2027 wage-weighted lottery (actual results vary by year and employer). Since the FY2027 cap season the H-1B lottery is weighted by wage level: Level I = 1 entry, II = 2, III = 3, IV = 4. The level is set by the offered wage against the prevailing wage for the occupation and worksite. Separately, a $100,000 fee for new H-1B petitions for workers outside the US was announced in 2025; as of September 2026 a federal court ruling keeps it unenforceable while appeals continue — check the current status.
