We are seeking talented and proactive Software Engineers to join our engineering and technology team in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, you will help design, build, and scale our core e-commerce platform, supply chain integration tools, and internal operational systems.
Job Overview
As a Software Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams—including product, operations, logistics, and our China branch office—to build scalable software solutions that optimize our cross-border e-commerce pipeline. From backend APIs and storefront features to internal logistics dashboards and inventory tracking systems, your work will directly drive business growth and user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Stack / Core Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy features across our web platform, internal systems, and API integrations.
- E-Commerce & Supply Chain Integration: Develop custom workflows and toolings integrating Shopify / Custom Frontends with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP, and order processing platforms.
- Database & Performance Optimization: Optimize database queries, API response times, and system architecture to ensure high performance and reliability during high-traffic promotional events.
- Cross-Border Technical Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate closely with engineering, vendor, and supply chain counterparts in China to ensure technical alignment and continuous integration.
- System Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Monitor application health, debug production issues, and implement proactive security and performance fixes.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain clear system design documentation and technical specifications in both English and Chinese as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Language Requirements: Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken) is required due to frequent collaboration with teams in Asia.
- Work Authorization: Open to candidates with OPT / CPT status. H-1B visa sponsorship is available for qualified candidates upon joining.
- Technical Stack / Skills:
- Proficiency in one or more core programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js/TypeScript, Go, or PHP).
- Experience with modern Web Frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js, Next.js, or Django/Express).
- solid understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, microservices, and database design (SQL/NoSQL like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms (Shopify APIs, Amazon Web Services, ERP/WMS integrations) is a major plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical thinking, self-motivation, problem-solving mindset, and excellent cross-cultural teamwork skills.

- Mentioned in the listing
H-1B, OPT
- H-1B cap-exempt employer
Regular cap-subject employer — a new H-1B needs to win the lottery in March (unless you already hold cap-counted H-1B status).
- TN (citizens of Canada and Mexico)
This kind of role may fit the USMCA profession “Computer Systems Analyst (or Engineer, for engineering-degree holders)” — it depends on the actual duties. No lottery, no cap; you need the matching degree or license.
- E-3 (Australia) and H-1B1 (Chile, Singapore)
Same degree requirement as H-1B, but no lottery and a separate quota that is rarely filled.
- O-1 (extraordinary ability)
For candidates with awards, publications, press, a high salary or critical roles at distinguished organizations. No cap, no lottery; the employer files a petition.
- STEM OPT extension (F-1 students)

Salary vs prevailing wage
Below Level ISoftware Developers · Pittsburgh, PA. Annual prevailing wages set by the Department of Labor (OFLC).
| Level | Prevailing wage | H-1B lottery odds* |
|---|---|---|
| Level I | $81,702 | ~15% |
| Level II | $103,958 | ~31% |
| Level III | $126,194 | ~46% |
| Level IV | $148,450 | ~61% |
This job pays $65,000–$70,000 a year — below the Level I prevailing wage. For H-1B the employer must pay at least the prevailing wage, so the offer would have to go up.
* Odds are DHS projections for the FY2027 wage-weighted lottery (actual results vary by year and employer). Since the FY2027 cap season the H-1B lottery is weighted by wage level: Level I = 1 entry, II = 2, III = 3, IV = 4. The level is set by the offered wage against the prevailing wage for the occupation and worksite. Separately, a $100,000 fee for new H-1B petitions for workers outside the US was announced in 2025; as of September 2026 a federal court ruling keeps it unenforceable while appeals continue — check the current status.
